Rosie Woods x Minirig Collaboration
Minirig approached me in early 2020 about collaborating on a speaker project together. After months of designs and prototypes, we sold out the custom-painted Minirig 3 almost immediately when they dropped December 2020!
This collaborative process has been super interesting, having never worked in metal before. My work is very tonal which translating into metal wasn’t super easy! Through trial and error and many voice notes back and forth, I got to know the talented team at Minirig as we gradually brought this project ot life.
Most you won’t know that Bristol has a soft spot in my heart having spent four months living there in 2008! Unbelievably, I started a Geography degree at the University of Bristol. Unsurprisingly I realised pretty quickly it wasn’t the right course for me! I don’t remember any of the Geography but I have such buzzy memories of amazing nights out in Bristol because if the incredible music scene and sound system culture. It’s no coincidence these guys are based there.
All minirigs products are designed and tested in Bristol and manufactured by UK engineering companies using only the best, top-quality components. The sound these tiny speakers emit is honestly incredible with up to 100 hours of battery life! A savour for me as I’m awful at charging my electronics. Minirig have also done custom collaborations with the likes of artists Penfold and Jim’ll Paint it so I’m in top-notch company and I’m super proud to affiliate my name with their products.
This blurb sits alongside my product on their website:
‘Having the chance to collaborate with Minirig is so brilliant for me as a street artist since a portable speaker is my most loyal companion on all jobs I undertake. Music keeps me motivated and connected to my work. My design for this speaker is all about the flow of energy that music sends through your body, connecting your physical being to your soul. I can’t wait to use it!’ - Rosie Woods
